One of the things I just don’t get about some white people food is that shit will be unseasoned when it comes to spices but then overly salty. Like what is that about

    2. Doesn’t get him an invite to the cookout, but who ever he’s cooking for is lucky he has some sense

    3. I am also a white person sick of white people seasoning. “Add a tablespoon of Frank’s Red-hot into 8 quarts of chili for a real kick”

    4. You know your recipe is trash when a midwestern white dude tells you it ain’t got no flavor.

And those mfs consider ranch as the epitome of flavor lmao

    5. Can confirm. White food uses ketchup as a spice, and if you want REALLY hot food you add a dash of black pepper.

I really wish I was joking.

Edit: I legitimately didn’t see the “dash of black pepper” in the post title when I commented.

    6. Baked ziti should not have much heat, if any. Yes I’m white but I don’t think it’s racial to think spicy hot ziti is weird.

    7. any slow cooker or baked meal, I’m using a melanated recipe so it doesn’t come out tasting like water

The Thai restaurant down the street where I used to live knew me as “the white boy who orders everything Thai Hot” when I came in to pick up an order. Like I was the Chosen One or some shit lol

    9. Being from Louisiana and knowing a bunch of Cajuns/white creoles, seeing how white yankees season their food is like watching this bizarre parallel reality where people treat using cayenne pepper like its radioactive or something. Y’all live like this??

It’s ziti, it’s not supposed to be spicy. 1/2 tsp red pepper is fine. You balance it with like 1 Tbsp garlic powder, onion powder, 1 tsp black pepper, white pepper, oregano, parsley, 1/2 tsp msg

Imagine having ancestors that fought wars over spices and then completely abandoning them

As a white guy in New Mexico, the post and this thread are funny.

Spice level has nothing to do with race and everything to do with heritage.

    13. When searching recipes online, I’ve learned to add “Black people” to the beginning of the search. eg: “Black people spaghetti”

    14. At the risk of being very white this doesn’t seem like the type of dish that actually needs much red pepper? This isn’t even ziti, it could be a damn tuna noodle casserole lol.

    15. This is one of those weird misconceptions that always baffles me. A white person also cultivated Carolina reapers and tons of people grow and eat them. The continental US can’t be divided so simply by the color of people’s skin, that’s wack. It’s supposed to be the melting pot, but go ahead and pick out the mushrooms I guess.

    16. Check out Flatiron Pepper Co. “I can’t feel my face” shaker. It is great on pizza and pasta.
